Join Us in Welcoming James Jenkins, CVUSD’s Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Please join us in welcoming James Jenkins to his new role as an Assistant Director for the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Mr. Jenkins will provide leadership, coordination, and support of the ongoing development, implementation, and administration of all phases of the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts of the CVUSD.
“We are excited to welcome James Jenkins to our team to help lead our commitment to cultivating an educational environment where every student and staff member feels valued and heard,” Dr. Shanna Egans, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services said. “Mr. Jenkins’ passion, vision and leadership will be an invaluable asset for our community of schools.”
Mr. Jenkins has served for the last two years as the Principal at Las Colinas Middle School in the Pleasant Valley School District. Prior to that, he served an additional two years as an administrator in the Simi Valley Unified School District – one year as an Assistant Principal at Simi Valley High School and one year as the Dean of Students at Sinaloa Middle School. Before becoming an administrator, Mr. Jenkins served as an Educational Specialist Teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels working as a resource teacher, in a behaviorally structured program and teaching Specialized Academic Instruction, English Language Arts and History.
Mr. Jenkins is a current doctoral candidate at California Lutheran University. He graduated from California State University Channel Islands in the credential program for Special Education and earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
He holds an Educational Specialist: Mild/Moderate Credential as well as his Administrative Services Credential.
Mr. Jenkins will officially begin his new role with the CVUSD on July 1, 2024.
