    Science Lab

    Step into the future of learning at Madroña with their brand-new science lab! With state-of-the-art equipment and interactive learning stations, Madroña's young scientists have all the tools they need to engage in hands-on experiments, fostering a love for science and discovery.     Wranglers Get Active
    with the LA Rams
    Play 60 Program

    Lang Ranch Elementary School is focused on building a strong community! As part of the school's Wellness Week, the Los Angeles Rams' Play 60 program came to the Ranch to emphasize the importance of being physically active for at least 60 minutes a day. Scholars had the opportunity to engage with mascot Rampage and members of the Rams community team. Together, they participated in various activities, tested their skills with different football drills, enjoyed healthy snacks and more. Thank you, Rams, for being role models to our scholars. Way to go, Wranglers!

    Outdoor School
    at Camp Ramah

    Nestled in the scenic mountains of Ojai at Camp Ramah, CVUSD's Outdoor School provides sixth-grade students with a memorable and immersive, hands-on learning experience. Over four days and three nights, students engage in a variety of activities including hiking, learning about nature, and conservation. Through these hands-on activities, students not only enjoy the great outdoors but also receive an enriched science education that is aligned with Earth Science standards. The Outdoor School program stands as a cornerstone of CVUSD scholars' middle school educational experience, providing an unparalleled opportunity to connect with the natural world, build new friendships and learn through a dynamic, interactive setting.     CVUSD Hosts the Annual
    Invention Convention

    The CVUSD's Annual Invention Convention was recently held. This special event invited our 3rd to 5th grade scholars to present an innovative invention that proposes a solution to a real-world problem. Congratulations to all participants!

    Achieving Reading Goals
    to Scoring Hockey Goals
    with the LA Kings at Lang Ranch

    The LA Kings Development Team hosted a ball hockey clinic with Lang Ranch Elementary School students to celebrate the Wranglers reaching a reading milestone: 500 minutes of reading! The school has been partnering with the LA Kings as part of their schoolwide reading incentive program, where each student completes a reading log - with 500 minutes of reading completed (per student) being the milestone for this fun partnership opportunity. Students not only enjoyed a ball hockey clinic where they learned the basics of the sport, but they also received tickets to attend a future Kings game. Way to go, Wranglers!

    Latino Youth

    Thousand Oaks High School hosts the Latino Youth Leadership Conference with participation from Los Cerritos Middle School and Redwood Middle School scholars. The goal of the event is to build a bridge between middle and high school scholars, inspire them to be leaders and inform them of the unique programs and offerings available for their future educational journey at Thousand Oaks High School.

    Madroña's New
    Dance Studio

    Madroña Elementary School is committed to the arts! This year, the school opened a beautiful, brand-new dance studio on its campus with the help of generous community partners. Each week, scholars now have the opportunity to participate in a lively dance class where they learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy the movement of dance!

    Advisory Day

    Did you know that here in the CVUSD we offer 15 different career sectors of course offerings that our students can engage in. These courses feature everything from Manufacturing (welding and construction) to Arts, Media & Entertainment (video production and graphic design) and everything in between. On Thursday, February 29th the annual "CVUSD CTE Advisory Day: Leap into Your Future" event was held with participation from CVUSD students, educators, administrators and local businesses. The goal? Make connections, discuss goals, share ideas and continue to develop impactful school to career pathways for students now and after graduation day. Click here to learn more about CTE in the CVUSD.

    Scholars Learn to Sew
    at Glenwood Elementary

    Sharing passions and building new skills is at the center of Glenwood Elementary School's after-school enrichment sewing class! Three days a week, 5th grade teacher Denise Brown guides 4th and 5th grade scholars in learning how to use a sewing machine, while they apply math, measuring and design skills to complete fun projects like making a pillowcase, a tote bag, an apron and a stuffed animal. Way to go Gators!

    Green Screen Weather Reports
    at EARThS Magnet School

    Rain or sunshine, third grade students at EARThS Magnet School recently used their knowledge of clouds and the environment to develop their own weather reports! Scholars expertly presented their reports in front of a green screen and then used an app to edit their recordings into newsworthy weather clips. Way to go, Geckos!

    Financial Literacy with Community
    Partner Logix Federal Credit Union

    More than 150 of our high school students from Westlake High School, Thousand Oaks High, Newbury Park High and Conejo Valley High, completed a financial literacy program Bite of Reality® at a special event hosted and led by community partner Logix.

    CVUSD Jazz Bands
    with Terell Stafford

    Newbury Park band director, Dennis Crystal, and the Panther Band Boosters, have a long tradition of bringing "A" list talent to the Conejo Valley and inspiring jazz students in our schools. This tradition continued last week when Mr. Crystal invited Jazz bands from Newbury Park High, Thousand Oaks High and Westlake High School to have workshops with the amazing Terell Stafford.
