CVUSD Celebrates Read Across America Week
The Conejo Valley Unified School District celebrates Read Across America Week: March 2, 2024 to March 6, 2024. This national, weeklong event promotes the benefits of reading as well as the importance of adult involvement in the education of our community’s students.
Conejo Valley stands firmly committed to promoting reading as a catalyst for the future of students and their academic success. Reading aids young people in their preparation for America’s jobs in the future as well as their abilities to compete in the global community.
CVUSD has provided significant leadership in the area of community involvement for the education of our youth, grounded in the principle that educational investment is the key to the community’s constant improvement and long term quality of life.
Read Across America Week was born in 1998 by the National Education Association. Throughout the years, it has become America's largest celebration of reading. Read Across America celebrates a nation of diverse readers and academically engaged students while working to build cultural awareness, encourage empathy, and emphasize acceptance.
CVUSD calls on the community to ensure that every child is reading together with a caring adult during the week of March 2–6.. The district enthusiastically endorses Read Across America Week and at the Wednesday, February 21, 2024 Board of Education meeting approved Resolution #23/24-24 Read Across America Week.
