A Voice for Students: Meet Naima Kahl, Student Board Trustee 23-24 School Year

Naima KahlPlease join us in welcoming Naima Kahl to her role as the Student District Advisory Committee (SDAC) Student Board of Education Representative for the 2023-2024 academic year!

Naima Kahl is a current senior at Westlake High School and has been a resident of the Conejo Valley for the past five years. She is very active within her school's choir department and participates in numerous clubs and honors societies on campus. She has been in SDAC since her sophomore year and looks forward to leading her talented peers in a successful year!

As the Student Board Trustee, she hopes to more thoroughly understand district processes and provide the community with a unique student perspective. Through this opportunity, she aspires to help create equitable solutions for students across the district and represent their voices effectively.

This is the fifth consecutive year that a student from the Student District Advisory Committee (SDAC) will serve as a Student Board of Education Representative.

SDAC is made up of approximately 3-6 students from each high school site. The Student DAC representatives meet every other month with CVUSD Assistant Superintendents and Directors to discuss policies, events and important topics concerning students and the district. More about the mission/purpose of SDAC is available on the dedicated SDAC webpage: www.conejousd.org/SDAC.

SDAC welcomes student input at their monthly meetings via public comment. Students can also communicate with SDAC via their Instagram, and through outreach to any of the SDAC representatives from CVUSD's five high school sites.

Welcome, Ms. Kahl! We look forward to having you on the dais of the 2023-2024 school year!
