Congratulations Dr. Heather Chamberlin, CVUSD’s New Director of Mental Health and Wellness Services

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to welcome Dr. Heather Chamberlin to her new role as the Director of Mental Health and Wellness Services for the District.

As the Director of Mental Health and Wellness Services, Dr. Chamberlin will support the District with the development of protocols, services, and programs for students and families in all areas of mental health and wellness. This position coordinates and develops systems to support and meet the academic and social-emotional needs of all students, and provides interpretation and implementation of federal, state and local policies, facilitation of grants, and is the intern training program clinical supervisor. 

Dr. Chamberlin previously served as the Mental Health Services Coordinator for the District. She earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California, and a Master’s Degree in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara,

Earlier this year, the CVUSD was awarded an $11.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s School-Based Mental Health Services Grant Program. This new role, and Dr. Chamberlin’s excellence in leadership, will be instrumental in the District’s efforts to successfully expand and build upon the school-based mental health services available to students through this large grant, which will support the CVUSD’s mental health services for five years (January 2023 through December 2027.

With Dr. Chamberlin as the new Director of Mental Health and Wellness Services, we also welcome Bethany Stern, to her new role as the Mental Health Facilitator for the District.
