Let’s Play: Five CVUSD Playgrounds, Now Approved for Community Use on Weekends

Families will soon have access to play, jump and swing at our Westlake Hills Elementary School’s playground and outdoor play areas during the weekend. At the Wednesday, March 1st Board of Education meeting, the Westlake Hills Elementary School’s outdoor play area was approved for community use on Saturdays and Sundays. This school facility joins the four previously approved CVUSD outdoor play areas at: Aspen Elementary, Conejo Elementary, Lang Ranch Elementary, and Walnut Elementary School, which have been open to the community on the weekends since the fall of 2022.

Access to CVUSD schools' play areas is all part of an initiative, per Board of Education request and approval, to open certain school campuses after hours for community enjoyment.

These playgrounds are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 5pm. It is anticipated that the Westlake Hills Elementary play area will be open to the community beginning on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The District continues to request for all to respect these important play spaces with signs posted at play spaces with facility rules and prohibited actions.

The CVUSD looks forward to even more families having the opportunity to make fun memories on the District's beautiful campuses!

(Important note: there is no CVUSD supervision of children on these play structures on the weekend)
