Join us in Welcoming Dr. Erin Roderick, New Director of Special Education: Elementary and Preschool to the CVUSD!

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to welcome Dr. Erin Roderick to her new role as the District’s Director of Special Education: Elementary and Preschool.

Dr. Roderick is a dedicated instructional leader, committed to academic excellence and opportunity for all students. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, which facilitates her ability to make connections with families and community members. With nearly two decades of professional experience in education, Dr. Roderick most recently served as an Elementary School Principal in the Las Virgenes Unified School District.

Under the professional direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Student Services, the Director of Special Education, Preschool and Elementary is responsible for all aspects of the District’s Preschool and Elementary Special Education Division. Dr. Roderick will work directly with the Special Education Coordinators to develop, implement, and evaluate services for CVUSD’s students. She will work across disciplines to facilitate cohesive systems that ensure access and equity for students with disabilities.

“We are very excited for Dr. Roderick to begin her leadership role with the District’s Special Education team,” said Dr. Shanna Egans, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. “Her student-focused approach to creating effective learning environments and her commitment to collaboration will be an invaluable asset to our school communities.”

Dr. Roderick earned a Doctor of Education - Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Arts, Education - Emphasis in Special Education and an Education Specialist Credential - Mild/Moderate from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a Bachelor of Science - Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton.

Dr. Roderick begins her role effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
