My name is Aidan Light, and I am the new Student Board Trustee and Student District Advisory Committee (SDAC) Chairperson for the 2024-2025 school year. This is my 13th and final year in the Conejo Valley Unified School District, and I am in my seventh year doing what I can to better student experiences. In 2018, I created my first GATE event at Colina Middle School, and I have worked with the GATE TOSA and Student Support Services Department to create, facilitate, and/or volunteer at GATE events since then. In 2022, I joined the SDAC, where I have been part of the executive board and Vice Chair of the Budget/LCAP Superintendent’s Committee. There, I have had the honor of discussing many recent initiatives including Ethnic Studies, financial literacy, and campus culture, and piloted the first SDAC survey that went out to TOHS students regarding our upcoming discussion topics to represent and consider almost 500 students' voices who replied.

I hope to connect with and hear from many community members to have the most informed perspective, and cannot wait to learn and grow in this position. I truly believe that, between our many school sites, supportive faculty and community, and various opportunities and programs, there is a place for every student in the Conejo Valley USD.
