Hello, I’m Pamela Denton. I have been teaching in the CVUSD for my entire career of 26 years. I have taught students at Westlake Hills Elementary, Manzanita Elementary, and Madroña Elementary Schools. I have been teaching at Madroña since my oldest daughter, Megan, was a kindergarten student (she is now a sophomore in college).
I earned both my bachelor’s degree and my CLAD teaching credential from California Lutheran University. In 2017, I earned my Master of Arts in Reading, with an emphasis in elementary education, from Grand Canyon University.
My home life is busy keeping up with my three wonderful and crazy kids! Megan is enjoying her college career studying business at SBCC. Lizzie enjoys pole vaulting and is a junior at TOHS, and Ryan is in 8th grade at Sinaloa Middle School in Simi (where we moved this summer). In my free time, I love to read, hike, enjoy nature, go for walks, and spend time with my family.

Ms. Slattum
Hello, I'm Heidi Slattum. I have been teaching in the Conejo Valley at Cypress Elementary for over 20 years. I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grade. This is my first year teaching 2nd grade at Madrona. I am really excited to be here.
I earned both my bachelor's degree and CLAD teaching credential from California Lutheran University. While I was at CLU I competed on both the track and cross country teams. I even played on the basketball team one year.
I have three kids that keep me busy. My oldest is Bjorn. He's finishing up his senior year of college at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Next is Gretchen who is starting her sophomore year of college at Western University, in Colorado. She competes in track and cross country so I try to fly out for at least one race each season. My youngest is Anja and she will be starting her junior year of high school at Newbury Park High. She plays on the varsity soccer team and also competes in club soccer, so I spend a lot of time out on the pitch watching her play.
In my free time, I enjoy running, going to the beach, watching my kids play sports, and reading.
