I have taught 5th grade for the past 2 years at Cypress and was previously the librarian here for 12 years. I am a credentialed teacher with my degree from LMU and also a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist. I have over 26 years teaching elementary, including STEAM classes. I live locally with my husband John and our son & daughter. I love to read, go on long walks, go to the beach and watch good movies and teach art.

My name is Whitney Miller and grew up here in Newbury Park.  I am a former CVUSD student, having gone to Walnut, Sequoia and NPHS.  I have 8 years of full-time teaching experience here in CVUSD and Portola Valley School District in northern CA.  After taking some time out of the classroom to be with my 3 kids, I returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher the last 2 years and now back full-time.  I bring a strong background in Project Based Learning and Community Building to 5th Grade here at Cypress IB.  

In my free time, I love spending time with my family, go hiking, cooking, photography, and listening to music.
