My name is Jeff Rickert and I’m very excited to be the Principal of EARThS Magnet School!  I live in Newbury Park with my wife and two boys, our dog, a few fish, and a bearded dragon named Joe.  I’ve been a local for some time having graduated from Agoura High School in 1990 and then Cal Lutheran.

This will be my 20^th year in the Conejo Valley Unified School District.  I taught 2^nd, 4^th, and 6^th grade at Park Oaks Elementary and 6th grade Math and Science at Sycamore Canyon Middle School.  My career in Educational Administration began as Dean of Students at Redwood Middle School.  I was later appointed as Principal of University Elementary School and then moved to Westlake Elementary for five years.  I am currently in my 2nd year as the Principal of EARThS.

My older son was a 1st grader here at EARThS the first year the school opened and is now in the Discover Program at Sequoia Middle School.  My younger son started at EARTHS in kindergarten and is now an upper grader.  I have loved this school as a parent for the last seven years and am absolutely thrilled to be in my second year as Principal!

I believe in a cooperative approach to education.  No child's potential can be maximized without equal efforts from the parents and the school.  The EARThS program is built on parent volunteerism so get involved and take an active role in the education of our students.
