Hello Acacia Community, 

My name is Dennis Carter and it is a great honor to be selected as the principal of Acacia Magnet School for Enriched Learning. I am truly humbled and look forward to working with each one of you as we continue to build on the excellence that Acacia has come to be known for. 

During the 2022/2023 school year, I served as the Dean of Student Support Services at Redwood Middle School and provided weekly support at Acacia. I was inspired by the faculty's tireless dedication to the students' success as I visited classrooms. Interacting with students during lunch, playing soccer, handball, and shooting baskets allowed me the opportunity to build positive connections. While on campus I had the opportunity to meet and converse with many parents. While all of those interactions were meaningful, my favorite was Bingo Night and seeing the entire Acacia community come together. The love for students, school, and community was visible and something I am honored to now be a part of! 

I believe all students can learn at high levels and I look forward to partnering with every one of you as we dig deep and do the work to support student achievement. I remain committed to working in partnership with the Acacia community as we continue to build upon the student-centered environment where learning is fun, and students feel safe taking risks in their pursuit of knowledge. 

In closing, I want to say I am excited about the 2023/2024 school year and am confident that we will continue to create a space that allows all students to flourish! GO Cubs!
