A strong tradition of parental involvement and volunteerism are some of the things that make Westlake Elementary the wonderful place that it is! Whether your kids are just starting kindergarten or entering their fifth year, there are many good reasons to volunteer at school. It's a great way to show your kids that you take an interest in their education, and it sends a positive message that you consider school a worthwhile cause.

Remember, anyone can be a volunteer, a parent, grandparent, or other community members. There are volunteer opportunities for ALL kinds of time commitments, many one-time, special events OR you can volunteer regularly.

        • Classroom Parents
        • PFA Board Members
        • Chairing All-School Events

Classroom Parents support the teachers in organizing parties and are typically a liaison between the teacher and other parents of students in the class. Each teacher's needs are different so Classroom Parents should discuss expectations with their teacher. In general, Room Parents typically organize class parties and teachers' gifts for Teacher's Appreciation, Birthday, Holiday, and end of year. Classroom Parents stays in touch with their teachers and communicate with other parents on behalf of the teacher, if needed.
