Message from Principal Laurie Davis

Weathersfield is a “GEM” of a school that has been the best kept secret for far too long. Well…the secret is out! When you walk onto the Weathersfield campus, you feel a sense of “happiness”.  People say this time and time again and it’s totally true! We have a warm and welcoming school environment, and a school community that cares deeply for our children and their academic and social emotional growth.

Weathersfield has excellent teachers who are highly dedicated to their students and families. Our teachers are a cohesive group who share ideas, seek advice and attend professional development to continuously enhance their teaching strategies. Our teachers have a true heart for children. This combined with their dedication toward ensuring that their students are provided with high quality instruction makes the classroom environment a rich learning experience for all.

In addition to our instructionally strong, very caring teachers, we have a tremendously dedicated and committed support staff. They are always there to provide whatever assistance necessary to make a positive educational experience for all our children and their families.

The Weathersfield school community is second to none. Our highly supportive PTA and parent volunteers put in countless hours doing everything they can to provide our children with everything they need for a well-rounded education.

We truly are a neighborhood school . The children grow-up together at Weathersfield. They learn the importance of respect, responsibility, caring, kindness and honesty. They work together to achieve the best that they can be. The Weathersfield children are amazing!

Weathersfield would like to thank the CVUSD for working diligently to implement the Measure I Bond projects for our school. This past summer we received a beautiful MPR upgrade. The following projects were completed this school year (unless otherwise noted):

The secret is out “Our beautiful school is a DIAMOND!”

Weathersfield 5th Grade Eaglets Promote to 6th Grade!

Our 5th grade students promoted to 6th grade on the morning of Thursday, June 11th. Unable to hold our usual send-off due to Covid-19 restrictions, our creative Weathersfield team got busy, and the result was an absolutely AMAZING, PERSONAL,and FUN ceremony which exemplified our typical Weathersfield Eagle SPIRIT!  Families decorated their cars, music played, teachers made signs and cheered everyone. Our school mascot, Iggy the Eagle, bid farewell to each student at his or her vehicle. Cornerstone Photography created nifty photo certificates for each student which incorporates a video message from Principal Laurie Davis; Student Council President Sheela Khairzad; our 5th Grade Teachers, Sheri Leiken and Anna Torraca; and our K-Kids Coordinator Cristy Warner, into an image. Students received their culmination certificates with much fanfare! Great thanks to Michele Paniz Photography for capturing the day in pictures.

May retirement treat you well, Mr. Sturgeon. Our parting is bittersweet. On one hand, we're incredibly happy for you! You've earned the right to stay home and do whatever you wish! And on the other, we, your Weathersfield friends, will miss your daily good humor; warm nature; excellent stories; musical talents; amazing ties; and hilarious jokes, puns, and one-liners. Thanks for being a wonderful friend, colleague, and teacher; and thank you for taking good care of our young Eagles during your tenure here at Weathersfield. Rock on, Robin!!

Exciting News!!!!!

Weathersfield has been nominated for the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award! We are 1 of up to only 35 schools in the state of California to be nominated for this award. Weathersfield is being recognized for the exponential academic growth we’ve made over the past couple of years. This award is different from the California Distinguished Schools Award in that this one recognizes outstanding schools throughout the nation, not just the state. If we receive the Blue Ribbon Award, we will be honored in Washington DC this coming November. It is such an honor to be nominated!
