New Text Message Communication
Dear CVUSD Family:
CVUSD is committed to continually improving communication with the families we serve. In line with this commitment we will now be utilizing text message communication on a districtwide level. On Thursday, March 5th at approximately noon, we will be sending out a text to all CVUSD families with the following message: “CVUSD Msg: Welcome to text message communication from CVUSD! To opt out of future text messages reply STOP. Have a great day!”
If you do not receive this text message, you may verify, and update the SMS contact information we have on file for you by logging into Q Parent Connect, and making sure the “Text Msg” box is checked next to the phone number you would like to receive text messages on (please see the attached photo for visual reference).
Reasons you may not receive the text are:
- If you do not have a mobile phone number entered in Q Parent Connect OR
- If you have your mobile phone number listed as your “home” number in Q Parent Connect
Families may opt out of receiving text communication at any time by replying STOP to a text message from the school, or district. If you opt out of future text communication by replying “STOP” you will still receive text message communication that is flagged as “emergency.” If you would like to opt out of ALL text messages, including text communication flagged as “emergency” reply STOP to “54968.”
Please contact the front office of your student’s school should you need assistance updating or checking your SMS contact information in Q Parent Connect.
We hope you enjoy this new form of communication!

2016 LCAP Survey
Our district is looking for your input in order to shape our school district’s Local Control Accountability Plan. We are surveying all parents, staff and students in grades 4-5, 7-8 and 10-11 (use the grade level of students in your school.) The information we gain through these surveys is anonymous and will form the design and implementation of our district’s priorities, which are focused on the larger goal of improving our students’ school experience and performance. I encourage you to participate in this survey process and provide feedback. The survey closes on December 12, so watch for the email with your survey invite. If you do not have email address in Q, please contact our office for a paper survey.
I look forward to sharing the results at a future SSC meeting.
