Three CVUSD Teachers Recognized as Outstanding Math Educators

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to share that the following CVUSD teachers have been announced as 2024 Outstanding Math Educators by the Ventura County Math Council (VCMC):

  • Michelle Eby, Banyan Elementary School (4th Grade)

  • Dawn Gould, Los Cerritos Middle School (Math 6CP, Math 6 Accelerated)

  • Lisa Ryder, Westlake High School (Mathematics and Computer Science)

These educators comprise three of the five 2024 awardees to receive this county-wide recognition.

Individuals are nominated for this annual award through an online submission process. Awardees are dedicated to quality mathematics education. They are caring, sensitive, energetic, enthusiastic, and enjoy their job. They practice exemplary teaching techniques as outlined in the California Mathematics Framework and are supportive of mathematics education through any of the following: 

  • Designs and delivers learning experiences for mathematics classes

  • Involved in math conferences and workshops

  • Assists in the development of professional growth opportunities for teachers

  • Involved in ongoing curricular improvement in mathematics 

  • Takes leadership in local, state or national mathematics organizations

The 2024 Outstanding Math Educators will be honored at a special awards celebration and dinner this May in Camarillo.

The VCMC is comprised of educators and others who have an interest in mathematics who disseminate new ideas, skills and teaching techniques to Ventura County educators, while promoting the beauty and importance of mathematics.

Congratulations to Ms. Eby, Ms. Gould and Ms. Ryder on this recognition of excellence!
