Safety Advisory Committee

  • The Safety Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing District safety programs and making recommendations for improvements, conformity to changing laws, rules and regulations. The Committee also reviews requests for funding from schools and administrative department heads for facility and grounds repairs, and improvements designed to correct safety deficiencies, or improve upon existing conditions. The Committee is funded by rebates from the Ventura County Self Funding Authority (The District is self-insured with a group of other Ventura County school districts).

Some examples of projects that the Committee funds include: helmet and pad recertification, science safety equipment, ergonomic items, two-way radios for campus communication, asphalt crack repairs, fence installation, review and modification of school disaster plans, and employee safety training.
