SICK STUDENT PROTOCOLS

  • PLEASE keep children exhibiting any symptoms of illness at home.  Click HERE to view the Covid-19 Symptom Scenario chart.
  • Any child exhibiting symptoms of illness such as cough, congestion, runny nose, fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, etc., will be sent home.
  • PROMPT pick-up of sick children is MANDATORY for the safety of other students, teachers, and staff. Please make sure you updated existing emergency contacts via the Q ParentPortal (before August 31st) OR with our front office. It is imperative that front office staff be able to reach you or a designated emergency contact immediately, should there be need.

  • RETURN TO SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS: Children will be marked absent for 10 calendar days beginning their first day absent due to illness. In order to return prior to the end of the 10 days, students must be symptom-free and parents will need to provide either Covid negative test results or a doctor's note indicating the child may return to school. Please either deliver a hard copy copy of the doctors note or negative Covid test results to the front office (please do not put it in your child's backpack or send it to the teacher) OR email it to all three front office staff members: Stephanie Keays (Attendance), Lindsey Sivesind (Health Office) and Jacquie Wright (Office Manager). To email all three ladies, please click HERE.

Traffic Safety During School Drop-Off & Pick-Up

This is a friendly reminder to please respect and practice all Weathersfield Traffic Safety Guidelines. They are designed to keep you and your children safe during school drop-off and pick-up. Not following these simple guidelines risks injuring someone (most probably a child...perhaps even YOUR child). That would be tragic!

Please click HERE to review the Weathersfield Traffic Safety Guidelines.

Message from Principal Laurie Davis

Weathersfield is a “GEM” of a school that has been the best kept secret for far too long! When you walk onto the Weathersfield campus, you feel a sense of “happiness”. We provide a warm and welcoming school environment, and a school community that cares deeply for our children and their academic and social emotional growth.

Weathersfield teachers dedicate themselves toward ensuring that their students are provided with high quality instruction that creates a rich learning experience for all.  To illustrate this fact, Weathersfield Elementary received the 2020 National Blue Ribbon Schools Award. We were deeply honored to receive this award as one of only 367 schools in the country. Additionally, in 2014, Weathersfield earned the California Distinguished Schools Award. We are so proud!

In addition to our highly talented teachers, Weathersfield possesses a tremendously dedicated and committed support staff. We feature a highly acclaimed music program where students learn song, instruments, musical genres and history, dance, and how to read music.  Weathersfield students move on to middle school with a solid foundation in music education. Additionally, we have a robust student council where students are provided with school leadership opportunities, and a community outreach program that offers our children experiences to make a difference for others.

The Weathersfield families are second to none. Our extremely supportive PTA and volunteers put in countless hours to assist our teachers and staff in providing our children a well-rounded educational experience.

We truly are the quintessential neighborhood school. Our children grow up together at Weathersfield. They learn the importance of respect, responsibility, caring, kindness, and honesty. They work together to achieve the best that they can be. Our Eagles are amazing!

The secret is out “Our beautiful school is a DIAMOND!”

Laurie Davis, Principal
