Welcome! Thank you for visiting my website.
This is my 30th year teaching in Conejo Valley Unified School District. I have my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Teaching is my passion, and I love it just as much today as I did when I first started!
My students constantly amaze me with their thoughts on paper. Watching them write essays, that eventually show their voice and style, is very rewarding! Reading is also important to me. My philosophy is to encourage students to gain a love for reading that lasts a lifetime. Reading can take you to new places, other worlds, and give you new perspectives. Please encourage your child to read what interests them, but also encourage them to venture out to new genres.
In my French class, we learn basic vocabulary and all about the artists who were influenced by France: Degas, Cezanne, Lautrec, Rousseau, Gaugin, and Renoir. My favorites include Van Gogh (His Iris painting, dating back to 1890 is owned and on display at the Getty Museum in LA) and Monet whose "The Poppyfield near Argenteuil" was completed in 1873. We culminate with a French feast which includes escargots!
Redwood has been an incredible school for my children. Let me know what I can do to let you have the same experience!
