Westlake High Earns 2nd Place in 2026 Ventura County Academic Decathlon

Congratulations to our Westlake High School Warriors on earning 2nd place in the 2026 Ventura County Academic Decathlon!

The annual event, themed “The Roaring Twenties,” took place last month, with winners announced during a special evening ceremony on Monday, February 9th, in Camarillo.

Nine high schools from across Ventura County participated in this year’s competition, with teams from Westlake High and Thousand Oaks High Schools representing the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Students from both Westlake High and Thousand Oaks High earned individual awards and recognitions. Complete individual and team results in all of the various categories are available here.

The Academic Decathlon is an opportunity for high school students in Ventura County to compete against teams from schools throughout the county. Students compete in ten academic events that cover subjects ranging from art to economics. A unique aspect of the competition is that it’s designed to include students from all academic backgrounds. The United States Academic Decathlon is the nation’s premier scholastic competition for students from public and private high schools across the country.

Congratulations to all of the participants of the 2026 Ventura County Academic Decathlon!
