The "Principal for a Half Day Program" Returns to the Conejo

Have you ever wondered what a typical day in the life of a local school principal is like? Well, on Monday, March 30th, community members had a unique opportunity to find out. The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and Conejo Valley Unified School District hosted the annual "Principal for a Half Day Program," which provided participants with the opportunity to shadow a local elementary, middle, or high school principal and experience their profession firsthand.

During the program, participants had the chance to observe classrooms, tour the schools, and gain insight into the exceptional educational experiences of students. Following the campus tours, a luncheon was held at the Palm Garden Hotel, where participants shared their personal experiences from their visits to the school campuses.

Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce and the 45 community members who participated in the 2026 Principal for a Half Day Program. There was representation from a variety of local organizations and businesses, including: representatives from the offices of local elected officials, the City of Thousand Oaks, CRPD, California Lutheran University, Logix Federal Credit Union, Many Mansions, Fujifilm Biotechnologies, and many more.

Student Device & Technology Use Updates for the 2026-2027 School Year

During the 25–26 school year, the CVUSD formed a Technology Committee composed of stakeholders representing a variety of roles. The work from this Committee, along with a review of proposed amendments to district technology policies, were presented to the Board of Education in May. As a result of this collaborative work, and building on the District’s existing technology use practices, a variety of updates will be implemented for the 26-27 school year.
