Newbury Park Boys Swim & Dive Team Earns CIF-SS Top Academic Team Recognition

Newbury Park Boys Swim & Dive Team Earns CIF-SS Top Academic Team Recognition

Congratulations to our Newbury Park High School Boys Swim & Dive Team on being a winner of the 2025-2026 CIF Southern Section-FORD Academic Awards! The team awards, based on cumulative grade point average, are awarded in 29 team sports. For this year's awards, entries were received from 2,667 schools.

This award celebrates excellence in the classroom as well as in competition, with teams evaluated based on their cumulative GPA. To qualify, teams must have at least five student-athletes with a minimum 3.0 GPA during the first semester or first two quarters of the school year.

Newbury Park’s swimmers didn’t just meet the mark, they set it. With an outstanding 3.848 team GPA, they ranked highest among boys swim teams in the large-school division (1,500+ enrollment), securing their place at the top. In each sport, the CIF Southern Section honors the highest-achieving teams across both large and small (enrollment below 1,499) school categories.

This award is an incredible accomplishment that reflects the Panthers’ dedication, discipline, and success both in the pool and in the classroom.

Our Panther boys swim and dive student-athletes received Academic Award certificates, and were honored in a pre-game ceremony before the April 20th, Los Angeles Angels game versus the Toronto Blue Jays.

This is the 38th annual academic awards program, sponsored by the Southern California FORD Dealers.

Way to go Panthers!
