CVUSD Recognizes March as National Women’s History Month

The Conejo Valley Unified School District proudly celebrates National Women’s History Month this March. Women’s History Month was first introduced as a week-long celebration to honor the contributions of women throughout history to our country and society. In 1987, Congress officially expanded the celebration from a week to a month-long observation by proclaiming March as Women’s History Month, which has been proclaimed annually by each President thereafter.

The 2026 National Women’s History Month theme is “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” which focuses on the important role that women have played in creating environmental, economic, and social sustainability. National Women's History Month 2026 is a time to recognize women, who are committed to educating and inspiring generations. Education has always been a powerful catalyst for change, and women have been at the forefront, driving this transformation. From classrooms to boardrooms, and from grassroots movements to global initiatives, women educators and leaders have played a pivotal role in nurturing minds and inspiring action. This theme underscores the importance of acknowledging and celebrating these contributions, especially at a time when inclusive and equitable education is more critical than ever.

At the February 18, 2026 Board of Education Meeting, Resolution #25/26-24 In Support of National Women’s History Month was approved.

We honor National Women's History Month, March 2026, and International Women's Day, March 8, 2026, and encourage educators, students, and families to celebrate these two important events through appropriate programs and activities. All month long, we will be recognizing and celebrating the leadership of women, their accomplishments, and their lasting impact on our schools and community!
