CVUSD Recognizes Jewish American Heritage Month this May

The Conejo Valley Unified School District recognizes May as Jewish American Heritage Month, a time to recognize Jewish Americans' indelible contributions to our Nation's history, culture, and society. This month provides an opportunity to honor, celebrate, and learn about the vital role Jewish Americans have played in shaping our nation.

At the Wednesday, April 15, 2026 Board of Education Meeting, Annual Resolution #25/26-39 In Support of Jewish American Heritage Month was approved.

Jewish American Heritage Month provides an opportunity for people to learn about and appreciate Jewish heritage and reflect on the history and experiences of the American Jewish community.

In 1980, Former President Jimmy Carter adopted a proclamation that annually recognized Jewish American Heritage Week. Later in 2006, Former President George W. Bush adopted another proclamation that officially established May as Jewish American Heritage Month.

The CVUSD encourages staff, students, and community members to remember, honor, celebrate, and learn about Jewish Americans as well as their essential role in building our nation.
