CVUSD Celebrates Read Across America Week

CVUSD Celebrates Read Across America Week

During the week of March 2, 2026, the Conejo Valley Unified School District will proudly participate in Read Across America Week, a national event that encourages adults to inspire and support students in reading.

CVUSD schools will participate in activities such as inviting local celebrities and community leaders to read to students in the classrooms; encouraging students, teachers, and parents to visit schools of younger students and read to those students; having family reading parties at the school; and organizing student reading events at the school. This annual celebration is co-sponsored by the Unified Association of Conejo Teachers and the District.

Beyond the Conejo, millions of children across the country will celebrate Read Across America Week, an annual event sponsored by the National Education Association and many of the country’s leading literacy and youth groups. The National Education Association continues its theme, “Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers,” highlighting the strength found in diversity, inclusion, and a shared love of reading.

At the February 18, 2026 Board of Education Meeting, Resolution #26/26-27 In Support of Read Across America Week was approved.

CVUSD enthusiastically supports Read Across America and the promotion of reading amongst the next generation, as it is essential for students’ development, academic success, and their ability to compete in an evolving global economy.
