Congratulations to CVUSD’s March 2026 Teacher of the Month: Lynn Klinger of Colina Middle!

Lynn Klinger cultivates an incredibly supportive environment in the classroom. She genuinely cares about each student’s well-being and academic growth, while creating a safe space for inquiry, mistakes and personal development. Ms. Klinger is a veteran of the classroom, with more than 25 years working for the District. She currently teaches 6th grade math and science and also serves as the 6th grade lead at Colina Middle School. The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Conejo Valley Unified School District are proud to honor Ms. Klinger as the March 2026 Teacher of the Month!

Ms. Klinger creates highly engaging lessons that bring subjects to life through innovative teaching methods and a palpable passion for learning. She provides clear and consistent communication to both students and parents/guardians that builds trust and creates a strong home-school connection.

She is a team player who makes an immensely positive impact in the Colina community. She demonstrates strong collaboration with grade level and subject matter colleagues and shares insight, resources and support that elevate the entire teaching staff. Ms. Klinger also organizes Colina Middle’s outdoor school, a beloved and invaluable experience for 6th grade students. 

At the Tuesday, March 10th Colina Middle School staff meeting, Ms. Klinger was surprised with the March 2026 Teacher of the Month recognition. She was presented with a commemorative plaque from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, along with a $300 teacher grant from the Conejo Schools Foundation, and received congratulatory wishes from CVUSD’s leadership team and members of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee.

Congratulations Ms. Klinger on earning this special recognition for your unwavering dedication, exceptional teaching and the overall profound impact you make on the students and staff at Colina Middle School!

Olivia Johnson on stage of Regeneron ISEF competition

Olivia Johnson, 12th grade Lancer, won a Special Award in the prestigious International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which was held in Phoenix, Arizona this week. Olivia was one of more than 1,700 young scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and inventors representing more than 67 countries, regions and territories who participated in the annual event, now in its 76th year.

At the center of our CVUSD community are our dedicated employees who make invaluable contributions to our community of learners. We share our utmost gratitude for the more than 40 exceptional educators, administrators and staff members who have reached the well-deserved milestone of retirement. We also celebrate employees who have reached significant milestones of service this school year: 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years and 35 years.

Join us on Tuesday, May 26th at 6pm for an engaging and insightful parent/guardian workshop as we discuss the challenges of raising children in today’s complex world. This free workshop hosted by our BreakThough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation will provide support, guidance, and practical tools.
