Angela Liu, Westlake High Senior, Named 2026 Edison Scholar, Earns $50,000 College Scholarship
Congratulations to Angela Liu, 12th grade Westlake High School student, on being selected as a 2026 Edison Scholar!
On Monday, March 23rd, representatives from Edison International visited the Westlake High School campus to surprise Angela during her 4th period AP chemistry class. In a special presentation, she was awarded a giant ceremonial check and announced as a recipient of the 2026 Edison Scholars program, earning a $50,000 college scholarship from Edison International.
The Edison Scholars program recognizes students pursuing STEM studies who demonstrate academic achievement and a commitment to making a difference in their communities. In total 30 high school seniors with a passion for science, technology, engineering or math (STEM), are selected for this competitive scholarship.
Angela was admitted to Stanford University through Restricted Early Action. She plans to study physics & engineering in college.
Since 2006, Edison International has awarded more than $20 million in scholarships to 820 students through this program. This is a chance for students with big dreams to advance their higher education goals and help shape California’s clean energy future.
Edison Scholars become part of the Edison network and connect with ambitious, talented students and alumni.
Angela will be recognized at an upcoming Edison Scholars 2026 Reception at the Edison International Corporate Headquarters.

CVUSD high school students who are currently enrolled in the 11th and 12th grade and have an interest in graphic design, video production, social media content creation, photography, website design and writing/journalism are encouraged to apply.
