Westlake High Students Shine in National Spanish Language Competition

Congratulations to the outstanding Spanish students at Westlake High School who demonstrated excellence on the 2025 National Spanish Exam (NSE), earning well-deserved national recognition.

In this year's competition, students from WHS secured a remarkable 11 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze medals, in addition to 13 honorable mentions. The achievement of earning a medal or honorable mention on the NSE is a testament to the dedication and hard work of these students. Last week, the medals were presented to students at the Sociedad Honoraria Induction Ceremony.

This success is not an isolated incident but rather a reflection of Westlake High's longstanding tradition of academic excellence in Spanish language education. Students have consistently excelled on these exams, thanks to the guidance and expertise of dedicated Spanish teachers: Colleen Darden, Xochitl Ortega and Diane Rudas.
