The Annual State of the Schools Event Returns May 7th

The Conejo Schools Foundation hosts the annual State of the Schools event on Thursday, May 7th with CVUSD Superintendent, Dr. Mark McLaughlin and District staff presenting information on the state of our public schools, celebrating recent accomplishments and showcasing plans for the future.

We recognize the third week in April as Public School Volunteer Week, a time to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers in public education! Volunteers play a critical role in supporting the success of CVUSD students, teachers, support staff and our schools, while also promoting the importance of volunteering and community involvement.

Our Child Nutrition Department is hiring for a variety of Child Nutrition Assistant positions. Join a dedicated team that plays a vital role in supporting student success every day. These important positions make an invaluable impact for our students’ health and well-being by preparing food, serving meals and completing other essential responsibilities.

“I Belong!” was the theme of this year’s PTA Reflections contest, inviting Pre-K through 12th grade students to express their creativity across multiple art categories. Nine CVUSD students rose above thousands of entries and advanced through competitive judging rounds to earn prestigious state-level recognition for their original work.

Sarah Mergian welcomes all students with enthusiasm, grace and kindness. A transitional kindergarten (TK) teacher at Sycamore Canyon School for five school years, and counting, Ms. Mergian is a strong advocate for inclusion in the classroom, and has been making a positive impact in the Coyotes’ community since her arrival.
