Walnut Elementary School’s Jenelle Hogue brings joy wherever she goes. A current kindergarten teacher at Walnut, Ms. Hogue is known for finding ways to keep the Walnut community of students and staff in high spirits. She represents the high ideals of the teaching profession and we and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor her as the CVUSD April 2022 Teacher of the Month.
All CVUSD families and students are invited to: Surviving the College Admission Emotional Roller Coaster, a free workshop on Wednesday, April 27th at 6pm that will be led by the Westlake High School Counseling team and Dr. Samantha Tamburro of Engage Psychological Services. This event will discuss the important topic of how to manage the mixed emotions of college decision season (excitement, celebration, stress, disappointment, etc.) and offer advice on how students can cope with these challenges.
The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library is hosting a book drive for bilingual picture books, early readers and graphic novels in Spanish and English. These books will help build a welcoming space for learning and reading Spanish for the launch of Conejo Elementary School's Spanish-English Dual Language Immersion Program in August 2022. Books may be donated to the Newbury Park Library or Brimhall R. Grant Library in Thousand Oaks.
