May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to honor the generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders that enrich our Nation and are instrumental in its future success. Approval of Resolution #20/21-26: In Support of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month took place at the  Tuesday, April 20th regularly scheduled Board of Education Meeting.

The CVUSD BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation recently hosted the April Parent/Guardian Workshop: "Communicating with your LGBTQ Child" presented by John Sovec. This interactive workshop discussed tools to communicate better with children, build awareness of the unique needs of their LGBTQ child and explore how the coming out process is a journey for the entire family. Lang Ranch Student Wins 1st Place in Statewide InvestWrite® Competition

Congratulations to Rebecca W. of Lang Ranch Elementary who won 1st place in the InvestWrite® competition for the 4th-5th grade division at the state level! Rebecca is a member of Ms. Ackmann’s 5th grade class, which participated in the Fall 2020 Stock Market Game, with 11 students from the class submitting essays to InvestWrite®. InvestWrite®, an innovative national writing competition, is a program of the SIFMA Foundation offered exclusively to teachers and students participating in The Stock Market Game™.

Summer School Opportunities for CVUSD High School Students

Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to support its students’ diverse academic needs and ambitions. As such, the district is providing a listing of the many different opportunities for students to continue their education during the summer months. Students may choose to enroll in a summer school program for acceleration and/or credit recovery purposes. Students can apply up to 20 credits from external summer school programs for this summer 2021 only.

Two Colina Middle School Teams Advance to the Odyssey of the Mind World Championships

Creativity, teamwork and problem solving to foster original and divergent thinking is at the center of the Odyssey of the Mind program. Teams of students from schools across the Conejo participated in the SoCal Odyssey of the Mind program this year with “The Odd Squad” team from Colina Middle School named State Champions for coming in first in their respective problem on Monday, April 19th. A second Colina team named “Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies” came in second place overall in their problem/division. Both of the Colina teams will move on to participate in the Odyssey of the Mind World Championships - an incredible accomplishment!
