Please join the CVUSD BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation for "Communicating with your LGBTQ Child" presented by John Sovec on Tuesday, April 27 from 6:00-7:00 PM. This interactive workshop for CVUSD Parents/Guardians will discuss tools to communicate better with their children, build awareness of the unique needs of their LGBTQ child and explore how the coming out process is a journey for the entire family.

NPHS's Student-Athlete, Colin Sahlman, Named Gatorade California Boys Cross Country Player of the Year

In its 36th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company announced Colin Sahlman of Newbury Park High School as its 2020-21 Gatorade California Boys Cross Country Player of the Year. Sahlman is the second Gatorade California Boys Cross Country Player of the Year to be chosen from Newbury Park High School.

Please join our Parent Outreach Program on Thursday, April 22nd at 6pm for their April Outreach Conference: "La Lectura Enriquece La Mente y Abre Las Puertas del Futuro / Reading Enriches Our Minds and Opens Doors to the Future." The guest speaker is Angel Lerma M. E.D., an author, who will devote his time to talk about parenting and the importance of reading. This online event is hosted in Spanish, but English language translation is available, if requested in advance of the conference. RSVP today!

Gabriele Hempill is a teacher with heart; a heart for students, a heart for colleagues and a heart for teaching. A current 7th grade English teacher at Sequoia Middle School, Mrs. Hempill with more than 26 years as an educator in the CVUSD, her self-professed goal is to help each individual student love the process of learning and to feel successful. We and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor Mrs. Hempill as our April 2021 CVUSD Teacher of the Month!
