This FREE event will provide practical strategies on how to help your child be resilient and confident, manage social complexities, and address the added challenges that come with raising children through a pandemic.
Parents/guardians of students in the CVUSD are invited to attend a “Reality Party for Parents" on Saturday, May 21st. At this “Reality Party,” parents will tour a local Conejo Valley home set up to portray a teen party with youth actors voicing concerns expressed by local teens and young adults. The event is designed to to help promote relevant and meaningful conversations between parents/guardians and their teens on these difficult topics. This event is FREE with very limited space. Reservations are required for a specific tour time.
CVUSD's Parent Outreach Program proudly presents the 8th Annual Conference for Spanish Speaking Parents: My Identity - "Circumventing Poverty through Education. My personal journey to break the poverty cycle," on Thursday May 5th at 6pm via zoon. This virtual conference will feature Fernando Alvarez-Nunez, Ph.D., Scientific director of the Pivotal Synthetic Drug Product group at Amgen Inc as the guest speaker. English translation will be available upon request.

All CVUSD families and students are invited to: Surviving the College Admission Emotional Roller Coaster, a free workshop on Wednesday, April 27th at 6pm that will be led by the Westlake High School Counseling team and Dr. Samantha Tamburro of Engage Psychological Services. This event will discuss the important topic of how to manage the mixed emotions of college decision season (excitement, celebration, stress, disappointment, etc.) and offer advice on how students can cope with these challenges.
