Superintendent Succession Updates Online

Webpage Launched Dedicated to Providing the Latest Information About Superintendent Search

The Board of Education (Board) of the Conejo Valley Unified School District initiated its process in May for selecting a new superintendent, beginning with a series of Special Board Meetings dedicated to this procedure, which were held on May 8th, 9th and 30th, 2017.

During these meetings, a plan was put into place to search for an Interim Superintendent who will serve for the 2017-2018 school year. The CVUSD Human Resources Department posted the job for an Interim Superintendent on relevant job boards in mid-May, and applications will be accepted until June 9, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Interviews will commence shortly thereafter.

Moving forward, the Board is anticipating beginning their search for a permanent Superintendent in January of 2018. At that time, the Board plans to collect input from the district as well as community groups, as was done in the most recent search.

As part of the district’s commitment to keeping their employees and the public informed on the progress of this process, we have set up a page on the district site that will be dedicated to the latest updates on the process of hiring both an Interim, as well as a new Permanent Superintendent.

Dr. Mark McLaughlin, Assistant Superintendent Human Resources, noted that this addition to the website, “illustrates the Board's and the district’s continued commitment to being open and transparent in its processes and communications.”

The new page is located here:

It can be easily found via the main menus here: > Board of Education > Superintendent Succession > Quick Menu > Superintendent Succession
