Sycamore Middle School and Westlake High School Teachers Named May and June Teachers of the Month

Gia Jantz and Armita Mehrabi-Hashemi receive special recognition from Chamber of Commerce, District

The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Conejo Valley Unified School District for the 2016-2017 school year to recognize outstanding educators with its Teacher of the Month recognition program.

On Tuesday, May 23rd, Gia Jantz of Sycamore Canyon Elementary was named CVUSD’s May 2017 Teacher of the Month. Gia teaches English and is a native of the Conejo Valley. In fact, she is one of many teachers in our district who came through CVUSD for her own primary and secondary education (Acacia Elementary, Redwood Middle School and Thousand Oaks High School).

On Wednesday, May 24th, Armita Mehrabi-Hashemi, a math teacher at Westlake High School, was honored as the June 2017 Teacher of the Month. She's been teaching since 1999, and enjoys helping her students learn problem solving skills that serve them both inside and outside her classroom. A Westlake High School graduate herself, Armita attended Westlake Elementary and Colina Middle School as well.

Both exceptional teachers were presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of their achievements by members from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and CVUSD Superintendent, Dr. Ann Bonitatibus.

Thank you Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce members and congratulations Gia and Armita!
