Available November 1, 2021: School Choice Application and Interdistrict Transfer "Interest Form" for the 2022-2023 School Year
At Conejo Valley Unified School District we have a right fit for every student. For families who would like to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their assigned neighborhood school, this may be completed via the School Choice Application process. If families would like to apply to enroll their student in EARThs Magnet School, Open Classroom Leadership Magnet or Discover Academy, a School Choice Application must be submitted.
On Monday, November 1, 2021 at 8am, the School Choice Application for the 2022-2023 school year will be available for families to complete ONLINE. (Please note: Families without access to a device at home to complete the form online, may come to the District's Educational Center located at 1400 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks to utilize a District computer to complete the form.)
School Choice Applications must be submitted by Monday, January 31, 2022 at 5pm in order to be considered “on time” and to be included in the lottery process.
Please note, applications will still be accepted after January 31st. However, applications received after January 31st will be processed on a case by case basis (At schools where there is a wait list, applications submitted after January 31st will be placed on the wait list in the order received and subsequent to all on-time applications).
All of Conejo Valley Unified School District’s schools are considered Schools of Choice. As long as a school is not filled to its capacity with existing students and incoming neighborhood students, students living outside the neighborhood boundaries of a school may apply to enroll in that school. Schools may accept students via School Choice until they are filled to capacity. If there are more applications than there are available spots for interested students, the District will conduct a random lottery to select the number of students the school is able to accept.

Please note – you do not need to submit a School Choice Application if your student is planning to attend their assigned neighborhood school, or if your student was previously approved to attend their current school through school choice.
The majority of Conejo Valley Unified School District’s students attend their neighborhood school via the Neighborhood School Enrollment process. CVUSD kindergarten enrollment packets will be available online and at neighborhood schools beginning Tuesday, January 18, 2021. A families’ neighborhood school is assigned based on their address of residency. To determine the assigned neighborhood school, please use the District’s “Street Index” and “School Locator” map.
If a family resides outside of CVUSD’s boundaries, but would like to attend a CVUSD school, an Inter-District Transfer Form must be completed. An Inter-District Transfer “Interest Form” will be available to complete online beginning, November 1, 2021. After completing the “Interest Form,” families must complete an Inter-District Transfer Form and submit it to their assigned, “home” school district.
