Lang Ranch Student Wins 1st Place in Statewide InvestWrite® Competition

Congratulations to Rebecca W. of Lang Ranch Elementary who won 1st place in the InvestWrite® competition for the 4th-5th grade division at the state level! Rebecca is a member of Ms. Ackmann’s 5th grade class, which participated in the Fall 2020 Stock Market Game, with 11 students from the class submitting essays to InvestWrite®. InvestWrite®, an innovative national writing competition, is a program of the SIFMA Foundation offered exclusively to teachers and students participating in The Stock Market Game™.

This year’s writing assignment was as follows:

Describe something you've done to adapt to change or overcome an obstacle. How will this experience guide your future success? Now describe something a publicly traded company has done to adapt to change and explain how that makes it a good long-term investment. What other stocks, bonds or mutual funds would you combine with this company for a successful long-term portfolio and why?

Judges of the InvestWrite competition base their decision on student rationale, understanding of the subject matter and writing style.

Congratulations, Rebecca on this awesome recognition!
