Eligible Taxpayers Can Now File Their 2023 Tax Return for Free Directly with the IRS
The IRS Direct File pilot is a historic new service that will let people in select states, including California, electronically file (e-file) a 2023 federal tax return directly with the IRS for free. It’s available in English and Spanish, works on mobile devices, tablets and personal computers, and includes dedicated support from IRS customer service specialists.

New Summer EBT Program Information for Eligible CVUSD Families
Beginning this summer, California will offer Summer EBT, the new grocery EBT program for families with eligible school-age children. The Summer EBT program is a new tool to fight against child hunger from the California Department of Social Services, in partnership with the California Department of Education.

CVUSD Slam Dunks into March Madness with the Return of Unified Basketball Games!
On Friday, March 1st, in front of packed bleachers, Newbury Park High School hosted Westlake High School for the first of three Unified Basketball Games that will take place this month. All three of our CVUSD comprehensive high schools are Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools, which is centered on inclusion, engagement and fun.

CVUSD High School Students Participate in ‘Bite of Reality” Financial Literacy Program
More than 150 CVUSD high school students completed a financial literacy program Bite of Reality® at a special event hosted and led by community partner Logix Federal Credit Union. Student attendees spent the morning learning about how to carefully spend and budget in the future via the Bite of Reality app exercise that simulates a real-life experience, complete with financial decisions, bills, and even credit scores.
