What a joy it is to teach at Westlake Elementary School! For over twenty years, I have been privileged to teach second and third grade at the same school where my own son and daughter attended elementary school. My philosophy is simple: "In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun." Together with our amazing parents and students, we can make the magic of learning happen each day.
My education includes a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, and a Master's degree in Learning Theory from the University of Idaho in Moscow in addition to a Biblical Studies degree. I taught first grade for three years in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at a lab school associated with UCLA. After marrying my native California husband , I taught first and second grade in Colusa, California, and then owned a business for seven years in Mendocino, California. Our family moved to Westlake Village in 1992 with our third grade son and first grade daughter. They are now college graduates, happily married, and gratefully employed in San Francisco. We have truly been blessed by the quality education that CVUSD students receive.
Each day is a new adventure, and I am grateful for each student and for the support of each family.
Yours in the pursuit,
