5:00 – 6:15 pm Mini College Fair in the Quad

6:30 – 9:00 pm Classroom Information Workshops

Dinner may be purchased from food trucks at the front of the school.
The evening will consist of the mini college fair followed by information workshops including topics:

UC/CSU Admissions, Financial Aid, Scholarships, College Essays, Career Pathways, and more!


Seniors

The dead line for senior photos for the yearbook is 9/25. Students who have not had their picture taken at Cornerstone by this date will be listed as not pictured.


Student Password Change

In order to provide the best experience for our students while using Google Apps for Education, all student passwords have been modified.  Student passwords will have a period added to end of their password.  The addition of the eighth character will bring our password policy in compliance with Google’s minimum requirements.  

Example: Current Password: Xyz0101    New Password: Xyz0101.  <-- (Don't forget the period at the end)


Science Center

The Westlake High School Science Center is free and open to students of all grade levels and science subjects for tutoring Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, no appointment needed but you may schedule an appointment with a tutor, click here.


Career Technical Education Pathway

The CTE Pathway Program consists of 3 sequenced career themed courses that prepare students for employment and post-secondary training and education.
Pathway students complete the first course in 10th grade, the second course in 11th grade, and the third course in 12th grade.
Our CTE Pathways consist of Biotechnology & Research,Computer Science & Design and Health Services

Course Sequences:
Biotechnology: Chemistry (10th), Biotechnology Research & Design (11th), Scientific Research (12th)
Computer Science & Design: Algebra 2 (10th), Web Page Design (11th), Web Programming (12th)
Health Services: Chemistry (10th), Physiology (11th), Health Science & Medical Technology (12th)

Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

A new school immunization law requires all students entering 7th through 12th grades in the 2011-2012 school year in California to be immunized with a pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine booster called Tdap. Click here for details.

  •   Each student may demonstrate this by:

    •   Exhibiting self-motivation, self-discipline and self-evaluation.
    •   Developing and applying effective personal learning strategies and work habits. 

WHS students will be effective communicators who are able to demonstrate proficiency in utilizing digital tools and media in order to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.

Safe Homes Program

Project Conejo Safe Homes is a collaborative effort on behalf of Newbury Park High School, Thousand Oaks High School and Westlake High School for the youth of the Conejo Valley.  The project is asking parents to sign a pledge that they will not serve alcohol at youth gatherings in their homes, and will always be physically present at such gatherings. The goal of the program is to support parents in making informed decisions about the supervision of their teenage children. MOS

Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Exam

Westlake High School is an authorized Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exam testing center. We offer exam testing for Office 2013 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Please contact Dr. Looker or Dave Tyler for further information.
