The JA Company Program allows students to learn how to organize and operate a small business. Students meet after school, and with the guidance of a local business adviser, learn about business concepts, designs, business plans, marketing, sales, and distribution.
The program has operated several businesses; Deuces Wild, a discount card company (2005-2012), SwipeID, a student incentive program (2013-2014), and Tribe Trader, a discount book service (2013-2014).
Students may compete in the JA Company Program competition against other Southern CA high schools each spring at Finance Park in Burbank
Deuces Wild was named JA Southern CA Company of the Year in 2008 and represented CA at the JA Worldwide Competition in Minneapolis, MN
SwipeID was named JA Southern CA Company of the Year in 2013 and represented CA at the JA USA Competition in Washington DC placing second in 2014.
Applications for the 2014-2015 school year will be available in the counseling office in January 2015. This year's program will focus on completing a business plan and creating a business pitch similar to the TV show "Shark Tank"
