The pathways are part of Westlake High School's Career Technical Education (CTE) program. Pathways provide real world relevance to academic courses and allow students to gain employability skills and industry certification. Career pathways help students acquire the depth of knowledge and skills linked to specific post-secondary programs that will lead to a certification or a degree.
WHAT IS A PATHWAY?
Each pathway consists of 2 or 3 sequential courses that support a specific career field. Pathway students also participate in Essential Career Connections such field trips, networking, job shadowing, competitions, special projects, resume building, interview practice, mentors, and internships.
