What are test corrections?
The object of this math class is to provide students with a solid
mathematical foundation. On some tests, students are able to correct
mistakes to earn partial credit. This is to help encourage students to
continue practicing concepts with which they may have had some trouble.
How is the overall grade low when there are so many A's on the grade printout?
Math homework is based on attempting the work. It is the practice.
Students are able to make mistakes without being penalized. They get full
credit for completing the work on time and generally have 3 to 4 assginments
per week. This makes up for a lot of assignments over the trimester. It is
their responsibility to clear up questions and difficulties in class to
improve grades on quizzes and tests. Both quizzes and tests are worth
muchmore in the make up of the grade.
How do I do test corrections?
On a separate paper, make three columns. The first column will have the
question number; the second will have the new work or an explanation; the
third will have the new answer. You must show work or explain what was done
to get the correct answer. You may not write "I didn't get it", "no
explanation", "no work", etc. and expect to get credit. Lastly, YOU MUST
ATTACH THE ORIGINAL TEST TO THE CORRECTION SHEET(S). Ask Ms. T if you are
unsure about any of this.
