Let Yourself Grow

This year at Maple, our goal is to create socially conscious student leaders and independent workers supported by our school community. We believe that students and families sharing independent activities will help students feel safe to take appropriate risks. Please read the parent letter explaining the Let Grow Project for complete details. You will also see the Student Handout for ideas that provide examples for your child and family to do. In the letter, it states the project should be done independently by the student; however, at Maple we want each parent and family to share the project while letting your child become independent. If there is an activity your child would like to try that isn’t listed, please feel free to add it as the project ideas are unlimited.

Mondays will be the Let Grow Project “homework” night replacing traditional assignments. There is no deadline as children can repeat or extend a project of their choice. In the classrooms, students will have the opportunity to reflect upon their accomplishments. There will also be time at assemblies to share and student reflections will be displayed on campus.
