How do I determine what school serves my address?
Access the District-Wide Street Index to verify that Lang Ranch Elementary (LRE) is your neighborhood school. If you live outside the Lang Ranch attendance area you must register with your assigned school.
**NEW** Access the district's School Locator. Click on the map and enter your address. The School Locator will return with all levels of education as well as crossing guard information.
School Choice and Interdistrict Transfer
You may submit a School Choice application asking that your child be allowed to attend Lang Ranch Elementary (this process is a lottery that is overseen by the District Office. Individual schools do not have authority to grant approval). Applications are to be completed ONLINE at www.conejousd.org/SchoolChoiceApplication beginning November 1, 2018.
If you live outside the Conejo Valley Unified School District, you will need to submit an Interdistrict Transfer Application to your district of residence. If you have any questions, please contact Elementary Education at (805) 497-9511, ext. 241.

When can I enroll my child for Fall 2019?
Registration will begin Tuesday, January, 22, 2019, you may pick up a registration packet which must be returned to the school office beginning Tuesday, January 29, 2019. If you choose to register on January 29, 2019, please allow at least 30-60 minutes to complete the process. Due to space and large numbers, we strongly suggest that you do not bring children with you. The office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please arrive no later than 3:30 PM.
What do I need to bring to enroll my child?
1. Proof of birth: An original or certified copy of one (1) of the following:
a. birth certificate
b. baptismal record
Hospital certificates are NOT acceptable.
For 2019-20, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2019, to start K. No exceptions.
For 2019-20, a child must be six years old on or before September 1, 2019, to start 1st grade.
2. Proof of identity:
A valid Driver’s License or Government-Issued Photo ID card
3. Proof of residency:
Two (2) DIFFERENT CURRENT utility bills (gas, water, trash or electric only) Bill MUST show BOTH service address AND mailing address.

Proof of immunizations must be presented at registration.
What if I have lost the proof of birth or immunization record?
If you cannot locate your child’s original birth certificate or a passport, contact the county where your child was born, and they can issue you an “original copy.” Contact your child's physician for a replacement immunization record.
What are the classroom hours?
Kindergarten is 8:25-1:30
Grades 1-5 are 8:25-2:35
When will I know what class my child is in?
Kindergarten students will be notified on or before Wednesday, August 14, 2019, by mail (approximately one week
prior to the start of school). Class assignments for grades 1 through 5 will be posted outside by the covered lunch tables during the Wrangler Roundup on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.
When is the first day of school?
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
When is new student orientation?
Monday, August 19, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. is Kindergarten Meet-the-Teacher Day in the kindergarten classrooms.
Monday, August 19, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. is Grades 1-5 New Student Orientation in the Multipurpose Room (MPR).
Monday, August 19, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. is Parents' Only Kindergarten Back-to-School Night in the Multipurpose Room (MPR).
Does Lang Ranch offer childcare?
We have an on-site, district-run childcare facility. There will be an information sheet in your enrollment packet. You must be enrolled at Lang Ranch to enroll in our site childcare program. We will stamp your childcare registration form after you enroll at Lang Ranch. You must take the form to the Child Care University Center, 2801 Atlas Avenue, Thousand Oaks. Registration will not occur at Lang Ranch Elementary. Childcare will be first-come, first-served for new applicants. It will NOT be based upon a lottery.
