Check out
our PTA's new webpage!

THANK YOU to the volunteers that continue to come out and for showing up a little early so we can get the kids started on-time.  For those that haven’t been out in a while, come back out and say “Hi” and cheer on our Geckos.  If you are able to help, we are ready for you every Tuesday and Thursday by 7:40AM when we pass out the clipboards so we start on time at 7:45AM.

We are in our final 2 WEEKS of running club.  The last day of Running club for the year will be on May 30th so get your Geckos out there for their last two weeks of the year.

Mission Statements

NATIONAL PTA
“To build bridges between homes and schools,
integrating the efforts of parents
with those of principals and teachers.”

National PTA and California State PTA are tax exempt under
Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). As such, they maintain
strict adherence to its requirements in order to retain
that exemption. The PTA is a noncommercial, noneactarian and
nonpartisan organization. These basic policies must be part
of every PTA's bylaws.

“The mission of the California State PTA is to positively impact
the lives of all children and families by representing our members
and empowering our members and supporting them with skills
in advocacy, leadership, and communication.”

- California State PTA Board of Managers, July 2007

What this means to you is that at EARTHS Magnet School your PTA works hard with the school's administration to:

  • Improve every child's education experience
  • To make sure all the children have at their disposal the latest education tools and up-to-date technology
  • That they are exposed to arts, music and physical education

The PTA is made up of mothers and fathers just like you who want to make all of the above a reality for all the children at EARTHS Magnet School. Our organization supports many of the programs offered at our school.

It is very important that every family at EARTHS Magnet School is represented in our PTA. You can do so by becoming a member. The EARTHS Magnet School PTA carries our concerns, issues and requests to the highest levels of district council. By having each family represented in our PTA, we have a stronger voice to get our needs heard and met. Help us be heard!

We also encourage you to help out, as families of EARTHS, your participation is required three hours per month. You can help in the many committees we have or work in your child's classroom.
By helping your PTA you are telling your child that his/her education is important to you. We look forward to meeting you and your family. Welcome to our EARTHS Magnet School Community.

All adult volunteers must have a negative result TB test on file in the EARTHS office.  Most of the TB tests are good for 2 to 4 years.

If you are new to our school, before you volunteer in a classroom you need to bring proof of a negative TB test to school.  These can be obtained at your own doctor or urgent care centers.

A reminder to returning EARTHS parent volunteers: If you had a TB test in 2009, the year EARTHS opened, or before that time, it may have expired.  Checking our files we found several that have already expired or will expire this year.  Please check your records and update your TB tests if needed.

Click HERE for information on where you can get tested.

Volunteer Opportunities!
Volunteer Opportunities at EARTHS

The single most important contribution to a child’s success in school is parent involvement. At EARTHS Magnet School, we believe it takes cooperation between the parents, teachers and administrators to ensure programs are properly delivered and students achieve the highest level of success.

As part of the commitment to EARTHS, every parent at our school is required to participate in their child's education at school. Parents should be prepared to volunteer at least 3 hours per month in a meaningful capacity. We offer many opportunities for you to get involved in and outside of school. As we begin to plan for the opening, more information on specific opportunities will be posted.
