Hello students and parents. Welcome to an exciting and challenging year in honors algebra. I've been teaching for the district since 1992 and teaching honors algebra since 1996. I love Algebra, and especially this honors curriculum. It's is an enriched algebra 1 course with many science application problems. My background is in applied mathematics (civil engineering) and so I really appreciate the focus on applying what we're learning. Students will progress to the high school with an excellent foundation for their future math and science classes.
The following resources are available to honors algebra students:
Here students can find a copy of what we did in class. Copies of the assignment sheet, handouts and notes will be available here. You need your Moodle password to log onto the web site, however, your user name is your ID number. Your Moodle password is the same as the password to use the computers in the library. I lave a list of my student’s passwords so if you don’t know yours please see me.
Online Edition for the primary textbook (Glencoe)
Enter the Access Code found on the page titled "Instructions for Hotmath.com and Other Resources" at the top of my Moodle Page.
I am available to help my students Monday – Thursday’s at lunch in my classroom (room 56). If you’re struggling please come see me for extra help.
Email Reminders and Grade Reports
At the start of every chapter a copy of the assignment sheet will go out on this email distribution list to all parents (and students) who have signed up with me to receive them. I will also be sending regular (at least once a month) emailed grade reports. Parents must send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting to sign up for this service. Please specify the name and period your child has me for math.
