I am beyond excited to be your new Dean of Students here at Colina. I am a product of great and influential teachers here in CVSUD, which, in turn, inspired me to be a teacher. I received a B.A. and Master's degree in Teaching at California Lutheran University. After working with middle and high school students at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center, I began teaching at Redwood Middle School as a 6th grade English and Social Studies teacher and ASB teacher. I then moved across the valley to Sycamore Canyon School where I taught 7th grade CP and Honors English, 6th-8th grade ASB and Intervention. I have also had the opportunity to lead numerous committees both school-site and district-wide including GATE, ELL, Enrichment and Intervention Coordinator, and served as English department chair. In addition, I have been an instructional leader in our district as a member of English Articulation, PD presenter, Elementary Teacher Leader Academy Presenter, and an Instructional Coach for middle and high school.
During my time as a student and teacher in CVUSD, Colina has always upheld a reputation of excellence for every student. I was always in awe of Colina's academic excellence, spirited culture, and dedicated teachers and staff. My goal is to continue to support this long-standing tradition and to make sure all our students are provided the best middle school education and experience possible.
I look forward to getting to know each of you! My door is always open, so please drop in whenever you have a chance.
Here's to a great school year!
