California High School Proficiency Examination

This website will educate you about the CHSPE and provide registration information and instructions for taking the test in your area.

ACT Information

SAT and ACT have cancelled many exams since March. Please look at the list below to help you navigate what is happening with college entrance testing: Many schools are offering "no test scores required" or "test optional". Check the test policy with the schools you want to apply to. Ask the school if test scores, when/if submitted, can help/hurt in the admissions process. Make the decision about whether or not to pursue a test based on the information from your schools. If your schools do not require test scores for the 2021/22 admissions decisions, don’t sweat it! If you registered for a test and still want to take the test, check with SAT/College Board or ACT regarding refunds or wait-list options. Tests may be available after the Ventura County Dept of Health allows larger gatherings. Pay attention to what the VCHD says about schools and large gatherings and check the College Board or ACT websites often. Many colleges are waiving the test score requirement for scholarships! Call the financial aid office of the schools you are applying to in order to find out. If they are not waiving it, ask to speak to the director of financial aid!
