School Site Council (SSC) is a school advisory committee composed of elected parents and staff members. Elected members serve 2 year terms. Together they develop, monitor, and refine our yearly Single School Plan and make recommendations for Acacia. SSC generally meets monthly at 2:50 in Room 6. Meetings are open to the Acacia Community. Only members of SSC have a vote.

English Language Advisory Council (ELAC)

ELAC meets 5 times per year and serves in an advisory capacity for our students who are learning English. This Council gives input for EL programs, funds, and parent involvement/education opportunities.

Meet the Principal

Mr. Bennett Wutkee

Welcome to Acacia's new principal, Mr. Wutkee! 

Mr. Wutkee has worked in the District since 2001, teaching Spanish at Colina Middle School and Westlake High School for 7 years, and coaching Varsity Baseball. He has also served as the Dean of Students at Redwood Middle School, overseeing a variety of programs for students and teachers, including the implementation of Special Education plans. Wutkee has also served as the Assistant Principal of Athletics at Westlake High School, overseeing the school’s highly successful athletic programs.

Over the past five years, Wutkee has served as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Newbury Park High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Marketing from Brigham Young University, as well as a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from California State University, Northridge.

We welcome him as the new Principal for Acacia Magnet School!

Office Hours are 7:30-4:00

Grades 1-5 Instructional Hours M, Tu, Th, F 8:15-2:40

Early Release for Teacher Common Planning Time EVERY WEDNESDAY @ 1:30 pm

Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten 8:15-1:30

Early Release for Teacher Common Planning Time EVERY WEDNESDAY @ 1:00 pm

Student Supervision begins at 7:55 am - We recommend students arrive between 7:55 am and 8:05 am. Even a little late is too late - Thanks for arriving at school on time!

 


 

 

Parking Lot Info

Please observe the DROP OFF & PICK UP ZONE. The line will be busy from 8:05 on so come earlier. Remember to pull forward and get out/in QUICKLY in the YELLOW ZONE ONLY. Parents should not get out of their cars in the quick line. If you need to get out of your car, please park elsewhere so we can keep the line moving quickly.

Do NOT call your child into the drive through lane or street. 

Keep our kids safe. Drive SLOWLY and NO CELL PHONES.

Please be patient and courteous. Being late or in a hurry does not give anyone permission to be unsafe or rude. These rules are intended to keep the line moving as smoothly as possible and, above all, to keep the children safe.


Absence Reporting

Please remember to call the school to report your child's absence. CALL THE OFFICE IN THE MORNING PLEASE.

If your student has a fever and any other flu like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, body aches, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, please include this information in your message to the office. It is also important that you report Lice to us so that we can notify and check other students. We appreciate your cooperation. Thank you and remember keep up the hand washing.
